Mr. Naresh Kumar Mathur is former Member of Central Water Commission. He did his BE Civil from M B M Engineering College, University of Jodhpur in 1980. Initially, he served in Irrigation Department Rajasthan as Junior Engineer and Public Health Engineering Department Rajasthan as Assistant Engineer. He joined Central Water Commission as Assistant Executive Engineer in 1984. He served the Department in various units such as Hydrological Observation, Flood Forecasting, Project Monitoring, WR Structure Designs, Hydrological Studies, Dam Safety assurance etc at various levels. He also served as Commissioner in Ministry of Water Resources and Chief Engineer Godavari River Management Board. He did his ME(WRD) from University of Roorkee (now IIT Roorkee). He superannuated on 30.06-2019 as Member (Design and Research), Central Water Commission.
Mr. Mathur has contributed in various Project Hydrology Studies done in Central Water Commission, developing methodologies of assessing Hydrological parameters where data availability is scarce. He also worked on various manuals being developed under Dam rehabilitation and Improvement Program and a web-based asset management tool regarding Dams in India named DHARMA. As Member(D&) he contributed in Technical Advisory Committee of various organisations under Ministry of Water Resources such as National Institute of Hydrology, Central Soil and Mechanical Research Institute, Central for Water and Power Research Station, National Water Development Agency etc.
Mr. Mathur with his team has authored about 10 papers related to Hydrology, Dam safety etc in various national and international seminars, conferences, workshops.
