Dr. Sam Johnsson

Dr. Sam Johansson (1955), HydroResearch, Sweden, is a well-known expert within dam safety and dam monitoring. He is a pioneer regarding the use of optical fibre measurements in dams, responsible for more than 100 installations since 1998. He has also initiated many research projects regarding new methods for dam monitoring. After over 40 years working with hydro power and tailings dams, he has gained a lot of experience. He is also a member of the ICOLD Committee of Dam Monitoring and Surveillance.
